Anshu Christa Jacobson – Radio Interview Mistake 2.20.2011
I MADE A MISTAKE
PLEASE READ
Last night (2.20.2011) I had an interview with martial arts weekly on blogtalk radio. I think that the interview/ lesson went GREAT, I had a wonderful time and would love to go back on the air again!
If you did not know that I was doing and interview on the radio, what I was talking about is the relationship between Ninja & Samurai, and how in fact ninja were samurai.
In about the middle of the lesson, I was talking about the different levels of ashigaru (foot soldiers) in this section I said that:
* Tori Sune’emon was an ashigaru class, they would go out before the army to gather information, and bring it back, it is also said that they hid in water using techniques call mizugakure (water hiding) to help them gather information. **THIS WAS THE MISTAKE**
** WHAT I SHOULD HAVE SAID WAS **
Tori Sune’emon was a soldier in the ashigaru class. he would go out before the army to gather information and bring it back. It is also said that he hid in water using techniques call mizugakure (water hiding) to help him gather information.
******************
I basically explained the Tori Sune’emon as a class of ashigaru, rather than an individual. So I do apologize for making that mistake, to the school and the students. It was a very small mistake, but none the less I did make it so I do apologize.
******************
however the point that I was trying to make is that the “ninja warrior” that we see, was actually part of the samurai class, and the ninja could be part of the upper samurai class as well as the lower ashigaru class.
This mistake although small in the eyes of some and large in the eyes of others, still 100% backs up the point that I was trying to make. Tori Sune’emon was an ashigaru, and thought by many to have also been a ninja.
This was the point of the show, to explain how the shinobi were in all classes of the warrior sects. So again it was a mistake, yes, and I do apologize. If I am going to take all of the positive things that come from what I do, I have to be adult enough to admit when I make mistakes also.
But the “POINT” that I was trying to make with the information is still 100%, because the point was ninja were in the ashigaru class and Tori Sune’emon was an ashigaru, and thought by many (including Otake Sensei of the Katori Shinto Ryu) to have also been a ninja.
So I do apologize for the mistake, but I do hope that this can clear it up. Many of you know that I will post the actual interview, and when I do i will make sure that I note in the interview where this mistake was made so that others know too.
I wish you all well!
Take Care, Be Safe and Good Luck in your Journey of Budo.

Anshu Christa Jacobson – Understanding the Enemy
“If you live & behave like it is the past, than the people of the present find it really hard to understand & see you. If you throw away your cell phone, shut down your email, pass all instructions face to face, hand to hand, turn away from the present & disappear like a shadow, dress like the enemy & know what the enemy knows. The enemy is a lot easy to eliminate than you would think.”

Anshu Christa Jacobson – Book Review – Shoninki – “Original Japanese Text”
This is a book review of the title “SHONINKI – Original Japanese Text“. This is one of the most prominent historical text that we have left from the feudal era of Japan.
The Shoninki was written by Natori Masatake of the Kishu-ryu school of ninjutsu. Although the text is not very long, it reflects a certain way of thinking about ninjutsu, which is most interesting to anyone who wishes to learn more than just techniques. It is also important to keep in mind that the text was written for a selected contemporary audience. Without commentary and interpretation of the text, much would be lost. Therefore, a great translation is needed to understand the depth of the shoninki and the teachings of the kishu ryu school of ninjutsu.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK – TRUE PATH OF THE NINJA FOR ANY REAL SERIOUS NINJUTSU PRACTITIONER.

This is part 3 of the Ninja Search! Great Research! This proves that the “Straight Blade” Katana, does date before the NINJA BOOK IN THE U.S.A (1980’s) and the NINJA BOOM IN JAPAN (1960’s).
I am not for sure why so many have issues with facts? Just because their teacher says “this” does not make it true. anyway, watch part 1 – 2 & 3 and figure out what you think.

What do you do when you know that it is coming?
You know that you are helping someone, because they need help and they asked you to help them, yet once they get the help, they are going to drop you and give you NO CREDIT AT ALL — NO RESPECT — NO HONOR.
Do you keep helping them? if so Why?
BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH IT MIGHT NOT HELP YOU.
HELPING OTHERS IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO.
*************************************
Right now I am helping many people in the martial arts community in various different areas from teaching, administration, business, advertising, promotional ideas and video / photography design. I love helping them, If I can use my popularity in the arts to help others that is great! This just ads more positive energy in the marital arts community! 🙂
But as I write this there are 4 people that I am helping that I have found out from different sources are telling me one things and are going to be doing another. Even though I know that I am doing A LOT OF WORK for these 4 individuals & I know from very close sources once they get what they want from me, they are going to leave and not give me or my school any credit. I am still going to help them anyway,…and this is why.
#1 – Because I said I would, my word is my honor. Even to those that I ask for help, I always do what I say I will in the end. This is the only way to keep your honor.
#2 – Because my students, friends and fans will know that I am doing the right thing, and in the end, this is the correct thing to do.
#3 – When they show their real meaning — when they show what they are really worth — everyone will know that I knew that this was going to happen, and I chose this path anyway.
Because I can sleep at night knowing that I did the best I could to helping someone become better and stronger,I cant sleep at night knowing that I am not doing the correct thing.
—- If I don’t help them, that is me placing my personal gain over them as a person, so even though I know that I am not getting the same attention that I am giving them, a warrior does not place him/her self over anyone, they do the right thing in helping those that need help —-
There are those that are just about themselves and then there are those that are about helping others. All I care about is helping people learn these arts and spread the correct teachings of Authentic Ninjutsu.
This is the essence – We have to train hard and push ourselves in all three spirits of Budo (mind, body, sprit). The day that we stop learning, stop training and stop trying to make ourselves better as well as the others around us,…is the day that we get passed by and become a faint memory. Budo has to grow with the times, as do we.”
In the end, the ones that do not help anyone and just talk hate and are so fixed on personal gain they will be a forgotten shadow in history. No one wants to go to their grave forgotten. Help anyone you can, and let them choose their destiny. I wish you all the best my friends.
Take Care, Be Safe & Good Luck in your Journey of Budo.
