You have the right to protect yourself and the ones that you love, self defense is not just in the physical world, it is anywhere that you have identity.
No matter if it is “physically” in person, “mentally” with interaction towards others or “emotionally” such as online access, social media and public image. You have the right to defend yourself as well as defend the ones that you love from harmful abuse.
If there is no physical harm and you and your family are safe, understand that you are a practitioner of Budo, and keep in mind the true meaning of “BU” (武 ). this kanji means deflecting the spear, this is also understood as a way to avoid violence or to be a way of peace. You simply walk away. The best defense is to not be there.
The goal is to be happy and spend one more day with the ones that you love.
I hope that this helps you all.
Take Care, Be Safe and Good Luck in your Journey of Budo.
