“Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it” Bruce Lee; 1940-1973
——————–Some people are born the way that they want to be. Some are born with good physiques, exceptional athletic ability, speed and quickness. All of that is fine, but in the martial arts everything that you learn is an acquired skill and natural ability alone will not make you a martial artist.

I was not born with any of the traits that are listed above, at all. Every one of the traits listed above I had to work for. I noticed as I was younger and training in the arts that a true martial artist is made, not born. I have never seen anyone with no understanding of marital arts walk into a dojo and do well. For this reason alone, we understand to master the arts you have to give yourself completely to it and the harder that you work, the better you will be.Although the study of martial arts is not a religion, absorbing the martial arts is very much like the study of religion, because you learn how to protect the things that are the closest to you.

The feeling for this comes from the heart. You have the dedication to get what you know you need. Only when this becomes part of you do you know that you have it, which is similar towards absorbing spirituality. You have succeeded at it, you may never fully understand all of it, but you keep at it.

As you progress you start to see the true nature of the way. You understand that in the beginner’s way there are many routes, but the master’s way there is only one way, one journey. Once you see this path, you will experience a life that you never had before.

I hope that you have all enjoyed today’s lesson.
I wish you all the best in what you do.

Take care, Be safe and
Good luck in your Journey of Budo.
