————————————-
The shinobi is known to have had a longer sageo (下緒; cord) on their Tou (刀;blade) to help them on shinobi missions. In the Tomo-ryu there are seven methods called: “Nana-sageo-jutsu” (下げ緒七術), and are commonly called the seven cord arts of the ninja.
This image illustrates 1of the 7 cords arts taught in the Nana-sageo-jutsu (下げ緒七術). This is to keep thieves from stealing your sword at night while you sleep.
