In this video, I share some of the footage that was taken during the 2019 Jujutsu/Kumi Uchi Ground Fighting Workshop at the Budo Ryu Kai Hombu Dojo in Kansas City, Ks.
In this video, I teach a step by step tutorial on how to properly setup and apply the traditional jujutsu technique called Juji Gatame, a.k.a “The Armbar”…
The Budo Ryu Kai (Budo Ryu Ninjutsu) was developed by Soke Anshu Christa Jacobson, from her personal research, training and experience, and combining all of these facets into a way to fully develop one’s mind, body and spirit as one. Budo Ryu Ninjutsu is Soke Anshu Christa Jacobson’s modern approach towards the study of ancient samurai & ninja warfare!

In this video I discuss the importance of students taking care of their responsibilities, monthly dues and training fees.
We live in a world where there are so many that feel they are entitled and deserve free training. Most of these individuals do not understand the importance of hard work.
Then you have those who do work hard, but they do not have any honor, respect, dignity or loyalty to their teacher or dojo. They will disrespect their sensei and cheat the dojo because they are so self-centered, egotistical and arrogant that they feel they do not have to take care of their responsibilities. If they get what they want, they will hang everyone out to dry just so they can advance.
Years ago, when I decided to teach martial arts fulltime, I knew that I was never going to be rich. But, I was not doing this to be rich. I was teaching martial arts because I wanted to help people through the study and training of martial arts. It’s just sad that in doing so, I have to deal with people who “say” they have honor, when in fact, they do not…..

In this video, I teach a step by step tutorial of the top ninja principals of stealth walking, a.k,a Shinobi Aruki. Many times people see ninjutsu training as this very specific thing, when in reality, all ninjutsu training if flexible and fluid. The Top 5 Ninja Principals of Stealth Walking Are:
(1) Understand Bodyweight Transfer During Motion.
(2) Control Your Breathing.
(3) Stay Relaxed and Flexible.
(4) Train in Various Elements To Enhance Body Control.
(5) Learn To Adapt To Each Situation & Element.
In the classic ninjutsu text called the Bansenshukai, Fujibayashi Yasutake says:
“Ignorant ninja are not aware of this principal but directly stick to ancient ways and do not even know the simplest of facts…”
“Its folly to see something as unchangeable and stick to an old method without realizing that things keep changing and are in flux.”
– Fujibayashi Yasutake | Bansenshukai; 1676

In this video, I teach a ground fighting defensive training drill. This is a drill that will help your defensive skills as well as better your reversal skills in a combative situation. THERE IS A BENEFIT IN LEARNING HOW TO TAKE A PUNCH! THERE IS A BENEFIT IN LEARNING HOW TO BE TOUGH!
So many schools only focus on offense. How can you get this lock? How can you set up this choke? But the reality is, in a self defense situation, you never know when the attack is going to happen. More times than not, you will be attacked when you least expect it, you will need to defend the attack, better your position before you can utilize your offensive tactics. This is why we run this drill. The help the students better their defensive skills!

In this video, I give a class lecture in the Budo Ryu Kai Hombu Dojo on the philosophy of the relationship and growth of training in the martial arts. It is very important to understand that we as people do not “change” per-say. We grow. We grow to be the people that we are supposed to be. The relationship that you have with the training of the martial arts is entirely up to you, and will shape who it is that you will become.
