In this video, I discuss the importance of understanding the flexibility of the mind. Too many times people give more energy towards one realm than the other. As martial artist we need to find balance in all realms. It does not matter if it is the physical, mental, emotional or spiritual realm; we need to give it – its proper place and proper energy to be able to see the whole picture clearly, find balance in life, as well as properly defend ourselves and the ones that we love.
.
This lesson is directly for the practitioners of the ancient Japanese koryu martial arts of the ninja and samurai, such as ninjutsu (ninpo) and bujutsu (budo).

CONNECT THE DIVINE | TENCHIJIN
Giving Thanks To The Gods…
I woke up this morning to see that it’s raining. Always remember to thank the divine by getting out and experiencing the beauty of nature. This world was a gift that we get to experience its beauty, if we take the time too. This experience with nature helps us better understand ourselves and connect to the elements and our surroundings.
While it is raining, we get to experience the element of “Sui” (水; water) from the divine, which represents: Emotion, Sexuality, Adaptability, Flexibility, Suppleness, and Magnetism.
Today is also the day of a solar eclipse, which represents: Renewal of Spiritual Energy, Revealing Lies (particularly those that we tell ourselves), Re-thinking our Direction of Action and Refocusing on our Goals in Life.
As the powers of the Sun and the Moon align, I will get to experience the element of “Ku” (空; Void) from the divine, which is associated with: Heavens, Divine, Magick, Sakkijutsu and Invocation.
Remember the renewal of spiritual energy is more than just your inner power, but your magickal tools as well. Make sure that you lay out all of your stones and crystals, as well as all of your tools (wand, etc, etc…) and let them soak up this divine magickal energy that is a gift to all of us today, during the Solar Eclipse!
Blessed Be…

“Just as the ninja operated in the shadows centuries ago in Japan, a new master of the art again comes from the darkness. Training you has been my greatest accomplishment, and it is clear the student has surpassed her master.”
“Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.”

*********************
Art is the desire of a person express them self, to display and share the reactions of their personality to the world.
In this photo I wanted to use the contrast of the room so that people would look at the arts behind me, yet keeping my body / silhouette directly of the middle of the picture, to help with the “IN / YO” of the photograph.
Just as the screen behind me shows the dramatic difference between tiger and dragon, the photo also shows the contrast between light and dark. This in itself is also a major lesson of ninjutsu.
The screen behind me was painted by Kano Tanyu in the edo period (1602-1674) The piece is called Dragon and Waves; Tiger among the Bamboo.
I hope that you all enjoyed today’s lesson.

“The mind is compared to the ocean. Events such as happiness, irritation, fantasies and boredom are like the waves that rise and fall on its surface. Just as the waves can subside to reveal the stillness of the oceans depths, it is possible to calm the turbulence of the mind to reveal its natural clarity.”
